Character Name: Katara

Appearance:Katara has dark brown hair and light brown skin. She has blue eyes and wears blue clothing. Her hair has gone through a few phases with hair. She use to have it held up with a bun with a braid underneath it and two strands of hair on each side of her face being held into the bun. Now, she still has the signature bun and "hair loopies"(two strands), but instead of a braid, her hair is wavy and down.


Personality:Katara has been considered bossy, controlling, self-righteous, and even a bit of an ego-maniac. But she also had a kind side to her and is dedicated to her friends, family, and duties. She is passionate in what she believes in and will run headlong into danger if there is someone who needs her help. She also is very compassionate, willing to forgive and trust easily. Which has both almost been part of her undoing. She is the main person who keeps the group all together and looks out for everyone else's well being before her own. The protective way she acts coupled with her bossy nature make her seem like a mother to the rest of her friends.



Abilities: Katara is a water bender, but she draws her power mainly from the moon... with all the debris and smog around Manhattan, the moon is probably blocked out, making her waterbending weak. Katara also fell on some rubble on her way to Manhattan, her right arm is currently hurt, and it makes waterbending impossible. Katara tries to protect each and everyone of her friends and family too often. With "Big Mommy" around, it may be hard to keep everyone under control.


Weaknesses: Katara thinks her way of thinking is best, so her stubborn attitude will blind side her to seeing other opinions. She is also too forgiving and trusting. She always believes good in someone before learning the bad, which could always end up trouble for her.


Manhattanite or outsider?Outsider

History:Katara's mother was killed in a Fire Nation raid and her father, Hakoda, went away with the rest of the men to help fight against the war. Katara was left in a Southern Water Tribe village filled with only children, women, and her brother Sokka. She was the only water bender left in her tribe and no teacher to show her how to utilize this ability.


A couple of years later, her brother and her stumbled upon the Avatar, who was encased in an iceburg. The Avatar was said to have perished years ago, and only the Avatar could restore balance to the world. She immediately knew Aang was the world's last hope for survival and agreed to travel with him and help find teacher's for the Avatar to learn all four elements to restore balance to the world.


The Fire Lord has been trying to take control of all the nations with brute force and intimidation. After finding information at Wan Shi Tong's library about an eclipse that could render the fire nation powerless, Katara and her friends dub the day – Day of the Black Sun, and figure it would be the only chance they would have to take down the Fire Lord. The only problem is, the Fire Nation already knew this information and had evacuated most of their important people from the place, leaving them all downtrodden, but they were sure the Fire Lord was still there.


Katara had watched as her friends went ahead of her to see if the Fire Lord was still there while she stayed behind with her father. She didn't know what would happen today, but something didn't feel right as another wave of attacks came and she blacked out, only to reawaken in Manhattan.
